Material Guidelines

Break-In and General Use Tips

  • Machine type and condition are important to the carbide tipped blade.
  • A carbide tipped blade must be honed in to get the best performance out of the blade. To break in, use correct speed and reduce feed.
  • Coolant and coolant mix are very important factors in the performance of carbide tipped blades. Test coolant and add or replace often.

Cutting Tips

  • Carbide tipped bandsaw blades must have a constant chip load through the cut.
  • Entering and exiting of the material being cut should be slow. Again, maintain a constant chip load.
  • When cutting with a carbide tipped band, you must keep vibration out of the band. Adjust speed and feed to reduce vibration.
